Come on, you don't know a thing about Ylisse? Everyone knows about Ylisse! [ He doesn't seem to push the matter too much though. Instead the laugh practically echoes through in his tone as he says the words, and a moment later he's already grabbing Arrakis' hand to drag the other along. Something strange happens when they move. The field of flowers around them slowly fades into different surroundings. Even though there was not a city in sight, suddenly they are walking right through what seems like medieval city gates into a rather busy city. Said city also looks like it was taken straight out of medieval times, including people in armour wandering the streets.
But there's plenty of normal people too. Kids playing in the streets. Vendors in market stalls trying to sell their wares. There's a busy yet warm atmosphere no matter where you look, and a large castle sits on a hill in the middle of the city, practically visible from everywhere due to its height. ]
Surely you have been here in Ylisstol before. It's the largest city of the halidom, and it's where our Exalt resides!
[Okay, the way the flowers shifted into an entire city was certainly strange but again he didn't want to ruin the dream, which he now was 100% sure this was. Still, it could be dangerous to completely let himself get lost in the dream and he kept the fact in the back of his mind as he let Inigo drag him along. His longing for home only grew as Inigo showed him around. The medieval city wasn't the same as the steampunk one he grew up but it was close enough to make his heart ache.
He didn't want to dwell on his homesickness and he was genuinely excited to see Inigo's world. He got distracted with all the new sights and he turned back to Inigo with a small hum.]
I think I've been here once or twice,
[Given his insistence earlier admitting he had never been to Ylisstol before might sound too strange. A bit of confusion should be understandable if he's only been here a few times, hopefully. Now how to cleverly ask what an Exalt is?]
it's the home of such a renowned person after all.
[ Thankfully the boy seems to think nothing suspicious of what Arrakis is saying here. He just seems to retain his cheerful attitude, still helping the other move along the busy streets. ]
Yes? Have you ever seen the Exalt before?
[ .. sorry, Arrakis. Inigo is likely not helping at all with that question, huh.
Yet it's not asked with suspicion. Not in the slightest. Instead he just smiles as he looks at his friend. ]
[No he is not. Give him something he can work with Inigo! He hid his exasperation with a cheerful chuckle as he looked around. At least he didn't seem suspicious and Arrakis stubbornly tried again.]
[ Granted, Inigo has seen the Exalt a little more often than most people for a variety of reasons, but-- that is something he, in turn, does not want to mention. It doesn't feel relevant to tell the other right now. ]
You really must come from far away from here. [ Oh, Inigo.. You have no idea, boy.
At least it also sounds like he genuinely has no idea. Like he's suspecting nothing here, just innocently smiling at the other. ]
They are the person chosen to rule our halidom by the Divine Dragon Naga. Of course that can only mean they are a truly amazing person, right? The most amazing person in all of the lands.
[Everyone? That's going to make it harder to bluff but the traveler from afar approach seems to be working and he agreed with a small chuckle.]
Yeah.
[Inigo you are far too trusting! Arrakis couldn't really complain though. Chosen by the divine reminded him of the mages, which was both a comforting, and dangerous thought. The sharp flicker overshadowing the soft glow of his eyes hinted at his inner struggle.]
Right, they sound incredible!
[He only hoped that being chosen wasn't as much of a burden as his magic was.]
[ Inigo puffs his chest out with pride a little bit at hearing those words from the other. It's not even like it's a compliment to him, since he's only family of the Exalt, rather than the Exalt himself, but.. well, Inigo still thinks the Exalt is pretty amazing all the same. They always deserve this sort of praise. ]
Yes, we certainly are much more lucky here than in any other country around these parts! Mostly because we have the Exalt to protect us throughout anything!
