Look, is this a good way to divert attention away from himself? Yes. Yes, it sure is, and Inigo is infinitely grateful for it.
But.. on the other hand, it's also kind of nice to hear Fang Duobing talk about himself. Some people might call this sort of thing conceited, but Inigo thinks it's kind of admirable in a way. It must be nice to be that certain. To be that able to trace a path for yourself and follow it with all you've got.
So when he opens his mouth and his brain to mouth filter - as it often does - doesn't work all that well, Inigo says simply and honestly what's directly on his mind.
"That's something I really like about you, you know."
(Normal thing to say between bros, by the way!!!!)
Somehow, despite all of his confidence, the compliment seems to catch Fang Duobing a little off-guard. Not that he thinks it's an unreasonable thing to say or think about him, but it's not one that he hears too often. At least not delivered so directly and without his prompting.
The surprise registers in a look that he gives Inigo, smugness shaken down to a moment of vulnerability, eyes a little too wide in that half a second and eyebrows raised a touch too high--and then just as quickly built back up to a radiant grin.
"Is it? I didn't know, but it's not like I can blame you." There's plenty of things to like about him, if anyone were to ask. Which Inigo isn't specifically doing, but he is a little curious why he's said that now of all times to do so. "Why that one part in particular?"
There's a faint bit of a huff when the other immediately replies with that kind of pride, but it all seems to be in good humor. Inigo is in too good of a mood by now to try and pull Fang Duobing back down from his cloud nine of self-love. (Thinking about his friend and not thinking about child soldier trauma does wonders for his mood, surprisingly enough!)
"It is nice when people have a dream," he replies, seemingly not having to think too hard about this one. Inigo has always liked hearing people talk about the things they are passionate about.
(As long as said things are not absolutely cringe, anyway. But this one is definitely not cringe.)
"And you are always particularly certain of it. That sort of drive, without any hesitation.. It's beautiful in its own way."
